Dr Allen Rubin, MD is a board for certified vascular surgeon with extensive experience in both endovascular and open surgical procedures. Dr. Rubin has been in practice performing vascular surgery since 2006 and has extensive experience working in the multidisciplinary environment for limb salvage. Dr. Rubin’s first exposure working in a multidisciplinary limb salvage practice occurred during his time in the military. During this period, he witnessed firsthand the difference a team approach makes in preventing amputations.
It is my goal to continue this work in an outpatient environment where access to care becomes a priority. Having worked in the hospital environment, there are many barriers which have undoubtedly lead to many unnecessary amputations. Treating vascular disease in conjunction with other specialists in wound care, infectious disease, and podiatry is optimal and decreases the risk of major limb amputations.
